What Makes Us Unique?
We are unique in the fact that we are not preparing these adults and kids with job skills to go out and work for someone else. This offers no job security for the boy, and not much of a future working for a company that sees their employees as replaceable as toilet paper, in which they will be seen as expendable at the first sign of economic distress for that company.
What we offer is a program that makes them the founder/owner of their own company that is in the sustainable and green niche. This sustainable green niche is not a trend: here today, gone tomorrow. The world is more and more turning to a green economy not just for the purpose of reducing environmental risk to our planet and to ourselves, but also for the purpose of building a sustainable legacy for our future generations. Folks, even the IMF (International Monetary Fund) has been putting large sums of money into the sustainability niche over seas. If you ever wondered where to invest...look to see what the "Big Dogs" are doing.
BUT WAIT...There's More! Lots More.
We also will have an ARTS PROGRAM!
Yes! There will be writing, singing, theater, dance, painting, and various crafts. There will also be sports and excursions. They will work hard during the week, but they will also play hard during the weekends and festivities throughout each year...and quiet time/reflection to stay connected to themselves. A time to rest and recharge each day, which is vital to their well being.
In our program these youths are taught a more artful approach to life, one in which humans and nature can thrive in harmony without impeding on future generations to do the same.
We have a team of experts ready to help these women and children to give them a hope for a future. We have counselors, doctors, and teachers of every kind ready to help them get a new start in life.
Let’s Do The Math
It costs well over $31,000 per incarceration per year. This is a fee that replicates itself for most prisoners due to the 43% recidivism rate, as many return even before the end of their first year of release. The above rate is a modest number and is growing. This is not sustainable for the tax payer or the state, and does nothing for our kids who end up trapped in that life-sucking, dream-killing , revolving door.
Please help us help the next generation of kids and adults aging out of the foster care system and domestic violence.
With your help we can get these women and children into our 2-year program before they end up on the wrong side of the law or homeless.
With your help we can make a difference in a life.
